Ruined , but still beautiful...

 This way to the castle...

Close to the town Humenne, there are 3 castles in the distance of  few miles... Apparently, they are all connected by underground tunnels. Is that only a legend ? I don't know...

Castle Jasenov is on the hill in the village called Jasenov. It is approximately 392 m above sea level. The castle was built in 13 century. And it was destroyed in 1644.
We went there about 10 am , hoping to avoid scorching sun, but temperature was rising very fast.
Our guide, MY DAD ;) decided to take us up very quickly , apparently to save time...shortcut ;)
Well we saved time, but we were out of breath !! The hill was so steep , fuu. ;D
    Resting...
 Look at this Monster !
It was a beautiful day, catching up with my Dad , inhaling summery smelling air , sitting in the sun,

enjoying the view....on near by villages ,town Humenne, mountains and greenery...
The castle is being refurbished now, just to help it, to retain the shape , so beautiful heritage is not wiped away with time...
On the way down I found this bunch of tiny flowers, which looked like miniature orchids , the bug was lovely too ;D so couldn't not take picture of that ;)
Hope you enjoyed hike to the Jasenovsky Castle with us...am sure it was very comfortable one reading this from your sofa...
Going up is a little different experience. So , when you get to the East of Slovakia, visit this historical place with wonderful views....

Ps;) I mentioned in my other blog, (Slovakian Summer Holiday) we would like to climb a Volcano Vihorlat !
Am glad we didn't as we would probably just waste time...It is not allowed to go there, at anytime. There is an expedition going up I think once or twice a year, so that is the only time you can get to the top. So this is still on my list to do one day ;)
Just thought I let you know...
