Greek style dinner

Cinnamon's Wednesday

I decided to try a few recipes from my Mediterranean cookbook again. For today I had planned something Greek: Souvlaki with vegetables. Unfortunately I couldn't find wooden skewers as they are a summer's item in the shops. So I redesigned the dish ;-).

 My ingredients
I marinated the pork in olive oil, lemon and oregano and kept in in the fridge overnight.

I was a bit worried it might be too sour or even bitter but it was just perfect tender with a hint of lemon and of course the lovely oregano.

Today I cut the vegetables. I used a shallot as I like the more spicy taste of it.

I served my dish with tomato rice (I boiled the rice in chopped tomatoes and water and added some spices: oregano, thyme, rosmary and then added salt and pepper at the end) and yogurt and feta cheese dip (just mix yogurt and feta together, add salt and pepper and a dash of lemon).
It was really yummy!
